Benjamin Franklin-a man who knew what to say. Eager as a young boy to learn, you’ll discover Ben’s amazing achievement. In his family there was no time to waste. His parents had 17 children, and at the age of eight, Ben went to grammar school. After one year in school, he was the best student in his class. However, at the age of ten, his father had him leave school to learn his trade of making soap and candles.
Even though Ben was no longer in school, he loved learning so much that he spent all his money to buy books. Ben’s eagerness to learn and to do what was right led him to become a writer, printer, author, inventor, scientist, postmaster general, ambassador, representative, and one of the authors of the Declaration of Independence.
